Krewe of Chaos Goes to Paris
Krewe of Chaos held its 14th Mardi Gras Ball on January 19 in the L’Auberge Lake Charles Ballroom. With over 950 members and guests in attendance, this year’s theme was “Chaos Goes to Paris.” Chairperson Dianna Vidrine decorated the venue with the intent of taking guests on a walk through the parks of Paris to a little cafe’ where they could sit and take memorable photos. The Eiffel Tower, twinkling lights and beautiful florals set the mood for an evening abroad.
Guests were welcomed by emcee Worth Shelton, who then introduced Krewe Captains Candis McCaughey and Amanda Meche. These first year Captains gave special thanks to all board members: Shannon and Sam Hudson, Kellery Barton, Bryan and Kodie Manning, Mikki Myers, Karah and Timmy Wilson, Scott and Amanda Meche, Rod Myers, Treasurer and Board Member Scott Jackson, Historical Chair and Board Member Nicole Jackson, Chair and Co-Chair of the Royal Court, Jennifer Sims and Andrea Bourque, Float Chair and Co-Chair Andrew and Katherine Kershaw, T-Shirt Chair, Codey Lemaire and The Chaos Gumbo Team, Dillon Coates, Landon Henry, Zak Barton and Timmy Wilson.

This “Mon Cheri” also studied at McNeese and is employed through Citgo. They both enjoy the outdoors and traveling and spending time with their friends and family. The Duke loves hunting, golf and fishing, and has a special talent of cooking minute rice in 58 seconds, so we’re certain their marriage will be a long and beautiful one. He experienced a week of Chaos while surfing in Costa Rica and she really did experience “Chaos in Paris” while living with a family in France for three weeks!
The Duke and Duchess of Moulin Rouge were Blake and Codey Lemaire. Both born and raised in Vinton, the Duke and Duchess have been married for a blissful 16 years and have three children, Kaitlyn, 21, Karmen, 14, and Jaxson, 9. This Madame studied cosmetology at Demmons School of Beauty and has been the creator and stylist at Cheveux Salon and Day Spa for the past 16 years. This Monsieur is going on eight years at Westlake Chemical. Together they enjoy fishing, hunting and LSU football. He can cook any kind of meat that will make you want to “slap ya momma!” Duchess Codey has been an active Krewe chairperson for many years. The Duke and Duchess have been Krewe members for 12 years and share a love for their Krewe as they still don’t know what Chaos to expect from year to year!
The Duke and Duchess of Notre Dame were Barry and Stacy Badon. This Duke was born in Johnson Bayou and his Duchess grew up in Iowa, Louisiana. The Duke has his associate’s degree from McNeese State and is an MCP operator. When he isn’t (in his words) “aggravating the crap out of his wife,” he enjoys playing music and talking politics. They live a life of Chaos but for the past 25 years he has truly experienced it on stage with “The Bayou Boys.”
The Duke and Duchess of the Eiffel Tower were Kimberly and Robbie Russo. She is the creator and owner of “Kookies by Kim” and a travel agent for @Holiday Travel. She enjoys baking and party planning. In their spare time, the Duke and Duchess love to spend time with their children and share their passion for photography, videography and traveling. They once experienced Chaos while traveling the road to Hana in Hawaii, but the real Chaos Robbie loves is being the EMCEE for the Krewe!
The King Chaos XIV and Queen Gaea XIV were JD and Stephanie Hankins. His Royal Highness was born in Shreveport, grew up in Lake Charles and graduated from Barbe High School. The 2018 Royal Court joined the 2019 Court in the Second Line to kick of a night of dancing and fun.
